"Meanwhile, the Toronto Fashion Incubator's breakfast, where designers presented rolling racks of clothes and informal modelling, offered another moment of multi-faceted brilliance and, perhaps, the best example of how to get exposure without the necessity of a full-fledged show.
Standouts included playful minis with pleated side panels and brightly piped bomber jackets at Kity by Caroline Lim, crisp stretch-canvas suiting and pretty scribble flower skirts with matching bustier tops at Elena Conte, and cute Ts and funky tube dresses in orange, turquoise and fuchsia at Wonderlust. House of Spy by Wendy Wong, a funky label known for it's clever cuts and colour combinations, showed pinstriped denim along with hot pink and banana-coloured knit separates with ribbon trim. Also, in a big departure, now-solo Mabel designer Josephine Kwan offered a strong Bollywood-themed line of reversible backless halters, cotton batik dresses and bright blue handkerchief hem dresses in hand-painted silk."
