Karen Hartman is the founder and CEO of Redkat Sourcing, Inc. an American corporation with offices in Shanghai, China. Her company provides a turnkey outsourcing service for apparel companies using its international network of manufacturers, freight forwarding services, and customs agents. They specialize in mid-range sportswear for men and women as well as leather accessories. In addition, the firm provides technical design consultation for several clients.

Prior to moving to Shanghai, Karen worked for 7 years in the fashion and entertainment industries in Los Angeles. In 2000, she launched her own fashion accessories line, Luddite Design. Her designs were favored by Los Angeles’ top musicians like Tommy Lee who commissioned a custom guitar strap for his “Never a Dull Moment” Tour. In 2007 she sold Luddite Design to a larger distribution company in Los Angeles.
She designed collections for the Black Hearts Brigade and her designs were sold at top stores like Fred Segal, Metropark, and Nordstrom. When not working on accessories, Karen collaborated with some of Hollywood’s best directors and production companies as a costume designer and stylist. Her celebrity clientelle included Eric Bana, Gary Sinese, Courtney Love, Stacy Keibler, Autumn Reeser and System of a Down.
